Condensed biography

Joseph Blake began acting professionally from a very young age, initially appearing in BBC and ITV dramas as a child, and later attending the Guildford School of Acting.
He has more recently worked in multiple film productions, most notably with award-winning director Michael Grandage in the feature film My Policeman, and appeared as King Charles II in The Battle of Worcester.
He has also worked extensively on stage, appearing in Secret Cinema’s production of Stranger Things as Jonathan Byers, and performing as Romeo for two consecutive seasons in Paolo Valerio’s production of Romeo and Juliet at the King’s Theatre in Verona, among other productions.

Role in Symphonic Vision

Within the universe of Symphonic Vision imagined by Christophe Guyard, Joseph Blake lends his voice to the English narration of Images of a Forest Symphony (CCN0121). His delivery, both expressive and deeply inhabited, unites theatrical precision with a profound sense of musicality. He gives the poetic text a cinematic and sensitive presence, linking speech and orchestra in a single breath. His performance imparts to the work an immersive and meditative dimension, where music and voice converge into a symphonic poem.

Quotation

“Within the score of Images of a Forest Symphony, Joseph Blake steps on stage as one enters a mystery: among other actors — no longer our Romeos and Juliets nor the kings of old, but the princes of a natural and mystical adventure, where the hidden forces of the world play the counterpoint of wonder.” — Christophe Guyard
